@wolfcoder.bsky.social
Enby furry computer scientist and game developer. I work on things here and there, programming, art, music, whatever catches my whimsy.

Pronouns: they/them
My Game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/522130/LandTraveller/
I can't do anything about LandTraveller other than preserve the workstation laptop I use to develop it, but in the future I think Godot will be a good way for me to drop Windows entirely. It's done nothing but be in my way, we're far from the wonder days of Windows 7.

I love game engineering but I don't have the time for it anymore. I do like making games though, so I might learn how to use Godot.

I've slowly started to get back into working on my game regularly.

Today I've been working on the convenience store models that @virtuallychar.bsky.social did and making sure they're ready for UV mapping and texturing.

They still need a bit of work though.

Here's a real-time software ray tracing engine demo I did in C last year (named Folf-Ray). It was made to contrast pixel art and the feel of old PC games with more realistic lighting. While it was fun to work on, the CPU requirements would limit any indie game made with it, so I shelved it.

Morning chat!

I haven't tried uploading a gif here since I think I heard that's a thing now. How is it?

I wrote this music track for a character named "Moth". She's an engineer you meet in the middle of the game who helps you by instructing you how to build a ship.

(She's not sure why everyone calls her that when "Behe" would be a better short name for "Behemoth")

Here's a clip from an old NES demo of an engine I wrote in assembly. Working around all of the NES's hardware bugs made this quite a project! This demo just tests the engine's ability to handle a bunch of characters running basic AI with the music engine and everything else.

I figured I needed to post pixels at some point, new account needs art and such to keep it fun. I’ll work out the correct dimensions as I adjust to it

Sort of want to get back into this and work something small out of it. 2025 could very well be the year for me

This time I'm writing a software renderer in JAVA. Why? Extreme compatibility, no video hardware even necessary! I'm testing it with OpenJDK and its running faster than I expected.
Going for the PS1 look, sort of. The textures do swim but the polygons don't jitter as much.
