The EU court has ruled that Poland must recognise the marriage of a Polish same-sex couple who married in Germany, even though Polish law does not allow such marriages.

The ruling requires Poland to change its system for recognising such marriages so as not to discriminate against same-sex couples.

A prediction I heard this year was that, worldwide, #EdTech was heading for a split between those deemed worthy of human attention, connection and careful teaching - and those about to be fed AI slop.
The irony is that thousands of pounds of student debt still isn't enough to spare you the slop tube

The difference between Mr Politician telling you that you won't be required to carry your Britcard & Mr Roundabout Painter walking up to you with a broken beer bottle wanting to see your Britcard is that one of them is in front of you with a broken beer bottle wanting to see your Britcard

Friends don't let friends design inaccessible web content that could land someone in jail.

It's 2025, y'all. Get these contrast checkers out. It's okay, you'll still have plenty of colours to play with.

"Too often people go to university to 'explore research and knowledge'"

Basically, at this point, a spiffing life philosophy is to listen to Peter Kyle and do the exact opposite of what he suggests

The real Nemesis in the Operation Nemesis is the installer that doesn't care all your games are on an external SSD, it wants to install 50 Gigabytes to the hard drive and won't give you a choice.

Just had a mattress (re)delivered and saw one of the lads single-handedly lift the whole-ass king-size bells-and-whistles mattress onto his shoulder and yeet it onto the truck.

Do I still know anyone on here who's in #London and wants to meet for coffee sometime?

About to start visiting a lot more regularly, for learning / culture / meetups. Would be nice to see a Bluesky face every now and then :)

#Translator anxiety dream: you sit on a train next to someone reading the book whose #translation you just (IRL) submitted. "I translated, this," you tell them. They ignore you. Then you notice paragraphs on the page that you never saw before, and sure as sh*t never translated. Wake up screaming.😱
