Accountability day 19: I was right, deleting that chapter allows me to ramp up the pace. I'm having the murder happen later in the book, so I really need those readers to be invested. Wrote around 500 words, not counting minor rewrites and adjustments.

Accountability day 18: barely 300 new words, but I rewrote an important dialogue and it flows much better now. Now I have to make a couple hard choices...

Accountability day 17: cracked a Monster and went through the first nine chapters of Badgerton with a fine comb, fixing things and making sure all the foreshadowing is there. Also, I decided to completely jettison Chapter 10 for pacing reasons. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to write new stuff.
