This shows up in how even cis gay people are oppressed, too—the most feminine gay men and masculine lesbian women tend to be the most targeted by anti-gay violence and rhetoric, because it isn't just about being gay in a void, but being in friction with gender norms.

This is also why I reject defining the political core of "queerness" as "same-sex activity."

That political core is actually deviation from the standardized male-female system, with its accompanying sexual ecosystem.

The classic refute to “listening to the marginalized means deferring to the last person of that marginalization who spoke” is that it supplies no way to deal with disagreement between people of the same marginalization.

That alone should highlight the problem here.

I can understand why. I love it, but I can see why some don't. To me, the movie is like taking a walk through a beautiful environment at the hand of a guide who refuses to speak to you.
