Plenty of pros for having ASE, can't think of any cons and people I've talked to who want the cameras gone have not given any reasons other than the false talking points that it's a cash grab. I just don't know what to do when facts don't matter.

I wonder if we should explain to the naysayers that penalties are much worse for them if they are ticketed by police instead of ASE. Speed cameras don't issue demerits, police can. And if they care, there's also the uncomfortable fact that non-white people can be stopped more often.

Thanks for the reminder - I didn't know the men's soccer games were on TSN! I was looking for the women's games a few weeks ago but they were only on Onesoccer.

I couldn't report it as impersonating you because you don't have a Facebook page, but I reported it 3 times with other violations such as intellectual property. And I commented on a bunch of posts with a link to your post here on Bluesky. A few other people have done the same in the comments there.

This is not sustainable.

And that’s part of the privatization agenda.

Break the public system and then point to privatization of education as the solution.

It’s a genius plan.

And our kids will pay the price.

I cannot support a government who doesn’t care about the voices of Ontarians, especially on issues as important as our kids’ education (Bill 33), protecting renters (Bill 60), and keeping energy costs down (Bill 40).

Yes! And if certain segments of the population want everything to generate profit, have I got bad news for them about "free" parking.

That's okay, we're also on the hook for maintaining roads. Not sure why we expect transit to pay for itself when roads don't.

How about lower businesses taxes as a reward for companies creating salaried jobs with livable wages and benefits instead of as incentive to do so. The former achieves the aim of lower business taxes which is to broaden the tax base. Lower business taxes has not helped society, only the stock market

And I often wonder what the tech bro billionaires think will happen when so many jobs are destroyed by AI. People still need to live and without jobs UBI is needed. Maybe the billionaires are secretly socialist and are trying to bring in UBI by destroying society. ;-)

If you do vote for a person that has a seat in the winning party, if their vote is whipped they aren't really representing their constituency. Recently, a CAA survey suggested that 78% of people support speed cameras, and yet the government is listening to the minority. Cons voted on party lines.

My point was that sometimes you vote for the party and sometimes you vote for the person. In my case, sometimes I vote strategically because I want to avoid a majority for a specific party, but that means I can't vote for the person I really like. FPTP causes that.

Yes, I guess you're right. It bugs me that he's getting involved in municipal policies & making things worse, going against evidence & stepping on toes without solving any problems. I don't like that they're getting rid of school boards and trustees, don't like that they banned ranked ballots

Yes, totally agree.

To summarize: Protect Ontarians, Invest in Ontarians' health and education (it's good for business!), Restore local democracy
