It will be tremendously funny if Schumer gets publicly humiliated by an angry groundswell of Dem voters working their individual Senators who all bail on voting for cloture. There is no way he can continue in leadership if this happens, and it should.

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start

If “waste, fraud and abuse” are actually being uncovered, could we see a couple examples that can be investigated and confirmed by an independent 3rd party?

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.
Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions
