Yep. If that announcement "sounds the alarm" for coal producers, they're not paying attention. Coal will continue to spiral into oblivion. I spent most of my career in coal mining, but honestly, good riddance.

If an interaction with a stranger is unlikely to put you in actual danger (not just a hurt ego), then I encourage as much interaction with strangers as possible. I do blame people for wariness. Not always, but usually. "A stranger's just a friend you haven't met!", Simpson, M.

2/ Even they haven't had any negative experiences. They're living a lie with their rage, and deep down they truly know it. Kindness, inclusivity and empathy will always win.

Not for me, but I'll wager that as a first approximation, everyone in the world (including me) has had only positive interactions with trans people. Trying to generate some sort of socio-political rage in the face of universal experiences as MAGA-folks are trying to do must be fucking exhausting. 2/

Yep. I was very impressed with what I saw of my sons' math curriculum. The struture of math, combined with a recognition of how people actually learn, and ultimately what is important to understand and retain.

The argument that a seldom-used, archaic and arbitrary scale for the measurement of temperature is somewhow more "human" or "relatable" is the dumbest argument imaginable.

They have the only role that truly matters. The users are fallable; the engineering needs to acknowledge that. I will never accept that traffic engineers get a free-pass, whereas all other engineering professions are held to account with prosecution and deregistration if their deisgns kills someone.

Guarding our children when the hazards were wolves and sabre-totthed tigers was appropriate. That we then chose to build a transport system where we still have to do it is unforgivable.

The streets are utterly lawless. Drivers follow no road rules. This is readily observable. There is little desire to change this. Most people drive, and they mostly want to be able to continue to ignore the law whenever they deem it "safe".
