Cyclists are (part of) the answer to congestion and traffic violence, not the problem. Cars ruin everything I love. They're literally killing us. Sighthounds rule. Save the Galgo. Fender > Gibson. 🍁
Gabriola is beautiful...

Reminds me of this beauty at the entrance to Stanley Park in Vancouver. A nice concrete curb to prevent drivers from jumping the brige queue, but a faded bit of paint to protect cyclists from buses, cars and stupid personal trucks entering the park. This is also the very busy bus lane to the bridge.

Wind turbines can sometimes get a bit fiery. It's a very minor issue in the scheme of things. Unlike these, for example...

I remain gobsmacked by the utter brilliance of Smith's treatise on aging, the fleeting nature of life, mortality and regret...

Yeah, there seem to be plenty of routess drivers can use around there.

Drivers interpret these signs as directed only at cyclists, telling them to simply stay the fuck out of the way. In BC we have these classics, showing a close, dangerous and illegal pass by a driver in a comically undersized vehicle.

A few months of winter commuting in Vancouver does this to a rear hub.

Tour Divide cyclists celebrating in front of this hateful sign really triggers me.

Sure. A hammer works if you have fresh cotter pins (using the nut to minimise damage helps but is not foolproof), but one of these beauties usually lets you re-use the pins.

The Ontario government website puts cycling under "sport".

That rule doesn't seem to apply to drivers, though.

Vancouver, what the fuck are we doing? I dined at one of these parking-space patios the other day. Whilst the company was engaging, the threat of being smoked by a distracted driver in lifted F250 detracted somewhat, as did the fumes, noise and tyre dust. Honestly, what the fuck are we thinking?
