I am almost finished with the script for Episode 7 of Winds of Change, and it's by far the longest I've ever written for a podcast. But that's what happens when you try to cover the First World War, Indian revolutionary plots, the return of Gandhi, and the Imperial War Cabinet in one episode!

I had a fantastic time doing this! Public history is more important than ever, and I was thrilled to (hopefully) push a few future historians towards it.

(This is also my personal handle on BlueSky, so go follow me there!)
Last week I gave a 4th year lecture on podcasting as a medium of public history. I gave them a short History of History Podcasting, and talked about how the genre has evolved since the early years. From @mikeduncan.bsky.social and @dancarlin.bsky.social through to @theresthistory.bsky.social.

I got pinged about this comment on Reddit about the show - if there's space between @theresthistory.bsky.social and HardcoreHistory I will happily take it!

The first reviews/comments for Winds of Change - positive across the board, but I think my favourite is Cian's:

"I feel like I'm listening to a BBC documentary but they finally let an academic run the show without their hands tied behind their back."

"We've made artwork of your podcast episode" - Headliner.

I just finished speaking with Sam Dalrymple about his forthcoming book "Shattered Lands: The Five Partitions of India" and his work with Project Dastaan, which uses technology to reconnect refugees to the friends, families, and homes they had to leave behind in 1947.
