A new proposed map for redistricting Texas was released today as part of HB 4. The House will host a public hearing at 10 a.m. this Friday to take up the proposal. The proposed map would eliminate 5 congressional seats currently held by Democrats. (Currently, the GOP holds 25 of 38 seats.)

I'm told a career USAID staffer came down to address the Dems and said the front office of the administrator is too busy and they need to talk to the state dept.

Reuters was at the press conference and @hassankanu.bsky.social from the American Prospect is on sight. But cable news missed. Which sucks for them because this would have been extremely compelling television. Missin' out on those sweet, sweet ratings, guys!
it needs to be said that while democratic elected officials are trying to get into the USAID building which was shut down by musk, CNN and MSNBC are showing the entirety of a trump press conference.
