At least your profile name matches your take. I'd love to see the "nice feed" that is ruined by #teach180 🙄

As has been noted, you can always mute hashtags that bother you.

Ha. Mentioning Stevenson is usually met with eyerolls among pretty much any other group of Lake County teachers.

"Well at Stevenson they..." 🙄🙄🙄

What if public schools actually had enough money to be able to meet the needs of students? You're 100% right that some students need specialized environments, but why not have a world where all students have access to this & not just those that come from families w/ enough resources for private?

Hey! We were just at RAD Fest yesterday! We finally got to Asheville after our original plans were delayed by Helene.
Ashville was amazing - not just the art - we ate and drank ourselves through South Slope. It was vibrant.

Don't have a full guide for our circular motion lab, but here's the basic setup I use:

Do you have force sensors? I do this using Vernier Force Sensors and get pretty good data.

Here's a doc that kinda shows how I set it up: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

It looks like you might want to increase the sampling rate as well - you have a lot of sharp peaks which may mean you're missing the true peak

I just have students swing the force sensors around (I wrap pool noodles around the sensor for protection) and get decent data.

what is lost:

opportunities to connect through play, express themselves spontaneously, and learn to self-regulate.

by insisting children behave in developmentally inappropriate ways, we impede the things that help them develop.

Same study: the value educators ascribed to skills, such as “sitting still” and “not being disruptive,” rose by 16% and 10%, respectively, post NCLB. 😥
