Poor writer of unread books and enthusiastic gamer
If we're playing "who can go the longest without hearing Last Christmas" this year, I've just lost.

It was a crazy busy in the bookshop today. I took almost four times what I'd expect to take on a normal Weds. I guess the ramp-up to Christmas has started, which is good news. Independent bookshops make around a third of their yearly income over the seasonal period, so remember to shop local!

So according to this new Robin Hood series the Normans brought Christianity to England.

This will be news to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The worst thing about being ill is that lovely beer won't make you better.

It just doesn't seem right.

People are still on holiday, so this morning's 90 (NINETY) minute meeting is in danger of not overrunning by 20 minutes, as is the common practice.

After reading some Eric Ambler, it occurs to me that there's a rich seam to be mined from 1930's British adventure fiction.

Microsoft SharePoint would be a strong contender for one of the worst pieces of software ever created, were it not for Microsoft Teams.

One of my collection favourites; this Eaglemoss Hero model of the Nostromo. It's great to see the ship 360 and the detail is good. The stand isn't perfect and it would look better with all the vanes in place and perhaps with landing legs, but it looks great and increases my appreciation of the ship.

Young actors do large dramatic things so that you notice them. Old actors do small things to beguile you and draw you in.

It can take a long time to learn that less is more.

I see that Zoom meetings now have an option to join as a companion.

Knowing my luck, I'd end up as Adric.

Has anybody run The Morrow Project? It's got a great premise, and it's sat in my collection for years, but I really struggle to understand what the characters will actually *do* (1/2)

Those of you who've followed me for a while know I generally only run a sale for an unplanned expense, not for regular bills like workshop rent or materials. So here's a 20% discount to help me pay for an unexpected emergency vet bill for Fenris co-pilot Oz. Use code OZVET20 at checkout.

Thankyou.

I tried to write something like this forty years ago, mostly as an excuse to buy and make 1/144 planes. Beer and indolence got in the way back then, but they have never been an impediment to me backing a kickstarter. In fact, beer has "helped".
