It's gotta be frustrating for journalists scraping by and doing great work to go to NY Times dot com and read a puff piece written by a nepo baby that whitewashes a journalist who had sex with a source and has now parlayed that into a new book and a job at Vanity Fair

Good luck. I found it nearly impossible to migrate any of the 800 free subscribers I have to a small payment for the reader supported Substack. I think people who migrate from big media publications and go freelance do well as they migrate their audience, but to start from nothing is incredibly hard

My dad worked on a few stations doing M&E work, including those by Norman Foster and Will Alsop, two architects I then went to work with on summer placements as a teenager.
