@Sports_Soapbox on twitter. Thought I’d drop the silly handle I came up with when I thought I would actually start and keep up with a sports blog in college. I coach whatever you call the sport once played with a ball like this: ⚽️
This USWNT lineup is legit probably the greatest thing to happen in the history of US Soccer. So happy to tune in to a game of theirs for the first time in a long time and see this. I don’t even care if they play well or not. Emma Hayes is the GOAT just for making this happen.

Just saw the first woman ever to run under 14 minutes in the 5000 at Prefontaine!

Fine. Maybe I’ll boot up FM24 for the first time since last year and try to build a team around Richard Ríos, if no European club is gonna do it in real life.

Just when I was possibly getting into this, Rios is suspended for the semifinal. Nothing can ever be any good ever.

This game is great. Palmeiras going all out with no fear of Chelsea at all.

ESTAVAAAOOOO

Turned on the club World Cup for the first time since it started, and I hate how I like almost every single Chelsea player.

This is exactly why I stopped being an Arsenal fan a few years ago. It’s been weird not supporting a team after having done so almost religiously since high school, and I’ve watched less and less pro football since.
“Players have, allegedly, been frozen out at Arsenal for …expressing opinions, disagreeing with managers and displeasing sponsors, none of which are crimes at all. … Instead, you kept him around, and reminded your fans, constantly, that alleged rapists are welcome at Arsenal.” ‼️ (please read this)
I'm planning on continuing to talk about Thomas Partey, Arsenal and rape culture as long as it is a problem within football

lol no stoppage time. Referee felt bad for Inter.

This was never even a game.

PSG, like all of top level men’s football, are problematic in multiple ways, but I do think it’s extraordinary that they are doing it with both Dembele and Kvara as key attackers. A few years ago, tons of people would’ve said you can’t do it with one guy like that, let alone two.

Stop the fight
May 31, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Wow
May 31, 2025 at 8:23 PM
Corners might be Inter’s only chance lol
May 31, 2025 at 7:39 PM
PSG are numbers up in every area of buildup while Inter’s CBs have no one to guard. It’s never gonna work.
May 31, 2025 at 7:27 PM
And…it’s over
May 31, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Worst possible start and worst possible goal scorer.
May 31, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Come on Inter

SUNDERLAND
May 24, 2025 at 4:01 PM
Ugh. I gotta go to work now instead of watching extra time…
May 6, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Acerbi with a target man goal at the near post as good as any Giroud has ever had.
May 6, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Inter really blew a 2-0 first half lead in a CL semifinal. They might actually be cursed in Europe.

Referee for Bay-Louisville is doing a great job. So often referees don’t even consider cards for those last two challenges. #NWSL

Literally said “Waited to long…what are you doing…OH MY GOD!” seeing that Lima run and goal.
March 23, 2025 at 2:54 AM
Been a while since I watched concussion ball, and I thought they had adjusted the rules so it would be basically never worth returning kicks, but apparently all the players are super into risking death for possibly gaining two yards.
