Nice piece in the @theguardian.com today. @willfoth.bsky.social - do you think the real issue might be multiple French teams (each with one of the potential french champs) and they all seem more interested in beating one another rather than winning.

RIP Jacques Augendre who has died at the age of 99. He worked for L'Equipe between 1946-65, then Le Monde until 1990 and covered 55 Tours de France. A historian of cycling, especially the Tour, he wrote many books and guides. Pictured on the left with Pierre Chany & Antoine Blondin (📷 L'Equipe)
