Where there's a Will, there's a way
And you say this without giving us such a tantalizingly mysterious document?!

Why is he cutting that?

Just looked for papers, and omfg there's so many. We could probably put "dangerous car design" in excess mortality charts

Is there at least open source simulation data?

Car mesh + virtual crash test dummy as pedestrian -> graph of head trauma vs car model

I'd be surprised if it's not already a thing.

I know you mean all proper pokemon-like, but I just get the mental image of a wet racoon, a slightly on-fire skunk, and a possum with a blunt.

Do cars still not have pedestrian collision safety standards?
December 13, 2025 at 5:29 AM
Over the limit?! Straight to jail!
December 13, 2025 at 5:28 AM
That gives me a great idea for built-in max speed enforcement!

No horns, only megaphones

(you can get an awooga horn on amazon and they aren't even very expensive.)

30kph max unless in whitelisted zone
December 13, 2025 at 5:25 AM
Would it not be cheaper for any given city to provide the devices for free than to deal with the consequences of not having them?
December 13, 2025 at 5:23 AM
It's a device. Why does it not just turn off with the car?
December 13, 2025 at 5:21 AM
Definitely good in theory, but I vaguely recall hearing about technical issues with them. Was that a thing?
December 13, 2025 at 5:19 AM
Surely the correct response is "your mother last night"?
December 11, 2025 at 8:03 AM
Human still needs to be able to drive it I assume. Also probably cheaper to just use existing assembly lines for most of it for now.
December 8, 2025 at 4:06 PM
The next ones though?
December 8, 2025 at 4:00 PM
It's the only way out of this mess
December 7, 2025 at 2:02 PM
There aren't any? Why not?

Is this what a stroke feels like?
December 5, 2025 at 7:07 AM
Would be interested in reading the sort of book that would go on to make those be relevant and important distinctions somehow.
December 4, 2025 at 7:48 PM
On a tangent, it does make me wonder what a good test for just the timed high-stakes aspect would be though.

I mean I just think the idea that a timed high-stakes test being a worthy measurement at all is incredibly outdated
December 2, 2025 at 6:32 PM
There will always be assholes like that. Only way to avoid false accusations there is to make it really easy to get the correct testing, and also an easily verifiable proof thing.

Like with handicap parking. Need the permit, and it's easy(?) to double check with license plate.

Feels like this is more of a "why does this person need to pay for medical care?" question than a "how do we make a non-doctor identify medical need?" question.
