218 members signed the discharge petition to force a vote to extend ACA tax credits.

If Speaker Johnson refuses to bring forth the vote, he’s telling the American people loud and clear that rising health care costs are acceptable to him.

Almost no jobs have been added to the American economy since April. In fact, 710,000 more people are unemployed now versus November 2024. More thoughts on today's dismal jobs report — and what it means for America's affordability crisis.

Today's abysmal jobs report is a reminder that tax cuts for corporations and the rich don’t create jobs or grow the economy.

What's required is investment in working people — and better wages.

When workers have money to spend, the economy grows and businesses create more jobs.

Remember this.

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

Adelita Grijalva now holds the record for longest delay between winng a special Congressional election and being sworn into office.

Why the delay from Mike Johnson?

Perhaps it's because Grijalva would cast the final vote needed to release the Epstein files.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

For the last several months, federal workers have been through hell. Things have only gotten worse during the shutdown.

When I left the Department of Labor, I shared some parting words with the civil servants who worked alongside me.

These words of gratitude feel especially relevant today.

5.5 million Californians could have empty tables on November 1, but it doesn't have to be this way. Congressional Republicans could come to the bargaining table instead of refusing to discuss their catastrophic cuts to Medicaid, ACA subsidies, and SNAP itself.

The cuts and job loss penalties in the Republican budget aren't just a threat to the 71M Americans who count on #Medicaid.

They're also a threat to the future of democracy as Congressional Republicans hold our health care hostage during the government shutdown.

Our federal tax dollars are being used to fund a network of government social media accounts that pump out disinformation 24/7. Even during a government shutdown. It’s definitely not essential work.
