Nature connection, TTRPGs, self improvement.
An adventurer exploring the sandbox game of life by using nature and games to make sense of all this nonsense.
This is your permission to be excited, to let your emotions flow.

Don't be shy, be true to your nature.

If you are super stoked about something let your body and emotions show this.

If you really don't like a thing let your body, mind, and spirit align towards that.

Be fully into your existence.

Go answer Tucker's question!

Find the good things, revel in them.
Can we start a list of the simple inexpensive things that are bringing you joy these days? I need suggestions. A website you’ve discovered? A song? A simple daily practice?

I’ll go first. Daily walks with this guy bring me joy.

Spring is the season for transitions and rapid growth.

Like the apple tree buds and plans to grow fruit this year, so can you.

• Pick one of your problems, spend the growing season solving it
• Grow it over 6-9
• months
• Reflect and review over the winter
• Grow new goals again in the spring

Transitions suck.

It is so much nicer to look forward and imagine The New Thing than it is to do the work required to get there.

Being aware of the natural inclinations that occur during these transitions reminds you it is normal and you aren't alone.

Focus. Do the work. Let the process unfold.

I made a flute with my 4 year old yesterday.

What is the last thing you created?

Where you took raw materials and turned it into something else?

If you post here you take thoughts and turn them to a story.

If you made food you took ingredients and made a meal.

Find the joy in everyday creation.

Can you feel it?

The shifting thoughts, the anticipation?

Reflection time is ending, it is time to transition to spring growth.

Pick something you want to work on this year. Dedicate a season to it.

Spend time growing, not dwelling on the thoughts in your head.

Focus. Let change happen.

After a certain age, you are no longer the product of your environment or how you were raised. It becomes a personal choice to live the way you do!

Could really go for some WARM sunshine, ours is just cold and bright recently.

Take time for yourself, let your mind wander. Find yourself in the silence of boredom.
We focus too much on productivity due to our internalised capitalism. I want to see unproductivity goals. Anti-pomadoros. Celebrate not being productive because it means you're healing yourself mentally

Life is short, spend it in alignment with your nature, not aligned to addictive corporate media.

1. Spend time without modern distractions, be bored

2. See where your interests lie when bored

3. Do these things instead of wasting time

Take time each day to pursue your own nature and goals.

Finally! I got home before the sun was down!

Amazing beautiful sunset of golden apricot and flamingo pinks. Was too busy chasing the kid around the yard to get a picture for you all, sorry.

the majority of positive feedback on social media becomes a single click, the "like" button. it means little. there's no "dislike" button so negative feedback is written and detailed. a reversal of this would cause the soul to blossom. the dislikers reduced to stats. the likers florid, verdant, kind

I love the cozy camping vibes power outages bring. We've done our part to be ready for them so they go pretty smooth.

1. Shelter - have a non-electric or generator heat source. Blankets and coats. (gas fireplace)
2. Fire - have a way to boil water and cook (camp stove and jet boil. Extra gas.)

Hey Dan? Why do I need to bother with learning about the natural world?

Because you are a part of it whether you live in a city or a cabin in the mountains.

Shouldn't you know about the things you are a part of? The things that surround you all the time?

Be aware of them, feel connected to them.

Do you know ALBRT?

It is how to make connections to the world.

First, become AWARE of something new. LABEL it with an emotion attached to make a strong memory.

BOND by acknowledging it existing. REPEAT each time you see it to strengthen that bond. Do this over TIME.

An amazing sight from my recent Brazil trip: bioluminescent termite mounds in Emas National Park. Tiny larvae of click beetles (Pyrearinus termitilluminans) glow steadily, hoping to attract flying insects (like winged termites & ants), which they then grab with their sharp mandibles. #insects 🐙🌿

We are halfway through fall here in the US. This puts us in the most "fall" bit of fall.

Cozy up with a warm drink, reflect on your past year. Share your thoughts with others over a nice meal.

What did you accomplish? What did you fail? What do you want to bring into the upcoming new beginning?
November 12, 2024 at 6:54 PM
Fall is a season of community, reflection, and change.

Reflect on your life, year, goals.

Share your thoughts with your family and community over a meal.

Savor the connection.

Then, let it go. Drop your frustrations, your failures.

Go dormant.

Prepare to grow again with new ideas, new goals.

Up before the sun. Not by choice, feels like the Long Dark of Seattle winter is approaching quickly.

Tea and cuddles with the kids make it a good morning. A little reflection on what I want the day to be like.

What does your morning look like? Is it close to your ideal?
