Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy.
This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.

I appreciate his perspective. I was using Duolingo to learn French, but the switch to AI first basically killed it for me. A big red flag was the use of AI for hiring and performance reviews.

I have a 1798 streak on #Duolingo and today I'm deleting my account.
This week, I spoke with one of the Duolingo contractors impacted by its 'new' AI strategy, and they clarified that
1) it's not new. Duolingo has *already* fired an estimated 100 writers and translators.
2) they worked for months training an AI system that still makes egregious mistakes.
