I’ll look through everyone who follows me on here at some point but I’m terrible at admin because the epilepsy is giving me the attention span of a sleepy 2-year-old.

You’re all going by new names. I’m bemused.
Still getting compliments on my mask chains. I make layered chains a feature.

Thick chain like the ⛓️ emoji, across nose bridge of a black mask.

1 - 3 chain necklaces, same style chain as mask. Hoody unzipped enough that you see chains.

Sleeves rolled up, thick chains on my wrists. CHAINS. Yeahhh.

Why’s the city so chaotic so early? I’ve only been out 3 mins. A lone man is screaming but not in a distressed way. Another’s telling strangers all the crimes he’s done.

He’s listing them chronologically. I got as far as ‘nicking car stereos’ so there’s a while to go, assuming he still does crimes.

Weirdly reassuring when people in other countries speak about how the British government’s murdering disabled people while polite society nods approvingly from the sidelines.

Disabled people in other countries with legal assisted suicide have said they feel the same.

Thank you to the witnesses.

Something very bad will happen to me soon. Seizures in my sleep now too. People die in their sleep from these. It’s getting worse.

GP didn’t call back on Monday. I couldn’t get through today. Still haven’t seen a neurologist for 8 years.

No help is coming.

I really want people to know I did try.
Tomorrow, in the morning when I feel worst, I have to call my GP’s surgery. Restart trying to get doctors to call doctors, to get different meds.

Last time, GP, A&E, 111 and Neurology wouldn’t help. Referred me to each other. They can’t be bothered. Was in hospital a wk again because no one helped.

Covid isn’t over. Labour are ignoring WHO. Blaming the disabled for the now 3.1 million sick with long covid. They ignored the advice below from December and the advice from August ‘24 that could have prevented the quademic event at Christmas. The opposition remain silent. What does this achieve? 🧵
[10 Dec 2024] Opening Remarks from Dr Tedros at yesterday’s @who.int media briefing:

“We cannot talk about COVID in the past tense.

“It’s still with us, it still causes acute disease and Long COVID, and it still kills.

“The world might want to forget about COVID-19, but we cannot afford to.”

Harriet Tubman was disabled from a traumatic brain injury she had as a child. She had epilepsy because a slave owner threw a weight at someone else and it hit her.

She had hypersomnia too and surgery on her skull to treat very bad headaches.

They euthanise disabled kids in the Netherlands and Belgium. The same network of eugenics lobbyists want it in Canada.

It’s inevitable in the UK. Today, The Guardian had an article bemoaning that councils spend more money on disabled kids than on road maintenance.

Lethal overdoses are so cheap.
I follow an account who only posts lefty political jokes, except for 2 panicked, recent tweets about having had a baby with a rare epilepsy that doctors don’t understand.

She’s started posting against the assisted suicide bill. She realised what future doctors will suggest to her baby, didn’t she.

Our fundamental right to protest MUST be protected

Without risk of infection

Without being spied on by police’s creepy facial recognition tech

Without fear of endangering our family if protesting actions of other States

Face masks could be BANNED AT PROTESTS under Gov’s new Crime and Policing Bill

It’s going through Parliament today

Sound familiar?

That’s because Rishi Sunak’s Gov tried to introduce it last year…

GP’s writing to Neurology so at SOME point I’ll get ANOTHER hospital appointment. When? 2026? I don’t NEED one.

They only saw me A MONTH ago and prescribed an anti-epileptic that made me want to die. I just need one that DOESN’T.

This could be solved over the phone, now. Solved in a fucking text.

A note by my sofa says “How do you feel?” to prompt me to take meds if my seizures are dangerous.

Just now, I wrote it twice in magnetic Scrabble on my fridge too and on a chalk board by the sink.

Maybe I’ll write it on EVERY surface. You can’t stop me. Second-guessing yourself isn’t illegal.

I used to think the problem was that most folks just sort of burned out, but now I'm on the opposite side of it (a parent of young kids) and almost losing my mind feeling like I really can't do public participation in local politics or organizing.

Childcare is just so expensive.

This is so real.

And frankly, there's a childcare-sized gap at work here.

If your organizing or community doesn't find a way to accommodate childcare needs, you end up with some very young activists and some elder activists, but no one in between.
What Putnam misses is that we're struggling to form community because we've been forced to DIY society. Without unions or a decent safety net, most Americans are caught in precarity and have to put so much energy into paid work and unpaid care for family that they have nothing left for community.

If it’s legalised, the inevitably ever-expanding number of disabled people who are eligible for assisted suicide here will be able to access that quicker than state health care, state social care and benefits. That’s the intent.

Harriet Tubman believed her seizures came from a higher power. I’m an atheist but I know how a religious person would interpret them like that.

Dostoyevsky had ecstatic seizures. I get them for a tiny fraction of a second. Feels like access to god. Others feel like world-ending evil.
March 9, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Must be so scary for babies and kids to take anti-epileptic drugs if they get bad side-effects.

Most adults wouldn’t even care about terrible side-effects if the medication stopped the seizures. Not if it created less work for carers or professionals. You see that with a lot of kids on psych meds.
Thanks. 💜 It’s so scary. Can’t imagine what it’d be like for a kid. Did you find something better?

I don’t have kids and it wasn’t until the last couple of months that I started thinking about what it must be like for a kid or baby to take all these meds.

Look at this side-effect profile for kids!
I just took dose 1 of Keppra, my new epilepsy med. Worst odds for psych side-effects I’ve ever seen.

More scared of this than any drug I ever took in my past life. PTSD history means they shouldn’t even have prescribed it to me because of the risk.

If this goes wrong, nice knowing you, Bluesky. 🫡
