I think we're similar ages. HS in northern California. I have no idea *why* those folks were listening to wu-tang. Their other musical tastes were much more mainstream as far as i knew. But on a good day you could get KMEL on the radio, so maybe that had something to do with it?

Agree with the super hero and star wars takes but can't agree with this one. All the dumbest whitest jocks in my hight school blasted wu-tang constantly. Every one of them referenced lyrics and drew the logo on their jansport backpacks.

Reminds me of that painting David Hockney made of his parents, where his dad is wearing two watches.
