Just heard The Village People are set to perform at Trump’s inauguration.

At this point, perhaps they should rename themselves “The Villages People.”

Leonard Leo spent $540million packing the Supreme Court. He didn't spend that kind of money to put impartial jurists on the bench.

He bought the court.

Elon Musk spent $250million getting Trump elected.

That's three-quarters of billion dollars for 2 branches of our government.

That is America.

I did not know this many kids get married, jesus christ
Roughly, 16,666 minor kids get married a year vs 3,681 trans kids on HRT annually in average, with that second number being even smaller now due to the number of statewide healthcare bans that have been enacted over the last 3 years

It's a huge huge HUGE difference

seems like a problem that the most important election in the world happens once every four years and revolves mainly around whatever the most recent price of eggs was, leaving unanswered the crucial question of “Should Everything Be Run By Psychos?”

Books.

When buying books for gifts this holiday season, please don't buy from Amazon. Please shop at your local independent bookstore/bookseller. Ask for recommendations. If they don't have a particular book in stock, ask them to order it.

Wondering what Linda McMahon will get up to as Secretary of Education?

I'm not. The writing is on the wall.
"...it isn’t merely about replacing a public system with private options. The ultimate goal is to move away from any shared responsibility for other people’s children."

This past summer, @thenation.com excerpted the first chapter of my new book with @jenniferberkshire.bsky.social. Access it here:
Why "Fund Students, Not Systems" Is a Recipe for Disaster
When the "Race to the Top" becomes winner take all, students are the big losers. And as the stakes grow higher and higher, public education falls further behind.
