I root for underdogs. And kindness. And democracy. Also: writer, critter rescuer & bleeding heart.
GOP is openly looting our tax dollars now. They're seeking million dollar settlements for Trump, Flynn, the 8 senators, Argentinian investors....the list goes on.

There's $$$ for everyone but American taxpayers.

The grift is so blatant, even House MAGA says tone it down!

Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States.

My guess is that Team Trump took a pass at purging his name from the Epstein files. But the files are supposedly huge and his team is notoriously sloppy (they keep losing in court).

So, maybe Trump reluctant to release them in case they missed something incriminating? Just guessing here.

Great read! I'm wondering if Trump assumed Alex Acosta purged his name from the files when arranging Epstein's plea deal, only to learn this year that he had not. Hence his turnaround.

And though the files are now purged, he may be afraid his Keystone Cops of a DOJ missed some damaging stuff.

I wish our elected officials had a pinkie's worth of her 'tude. We wouldn't be in this mess.
November 18, 2025 at 2:01 PM
Or it could be, um, the affordability...
November 17, 2025 at 1:43 AM
Very chilling read. So many powerful people knew what Epstein was...but sold their souls because of his money and influence.

Kinda feels like Trump's inner circle.
November 16, 2025 at 7:19 PM
I can't believe I used to like this guy. Another Dem disappointment.
November 16, 2025 at 3:55 PM
This GOP has always been about looting taxpayer money. Look at the Big Ugly Bill. It's just that now, thanks to Trump's shamelessness, they're doing it out in the open.

Why do GOP voters keep choosing leaders who clearly want to hurt them?
November 14, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Because the Epstein estate files were released first, we'll get to see if/how the DOJ altered them when those files are released.
November 13, 2025 at 9:08 PM
They just can't keep their hands off taxpayers money. Because Trump is so blatant about grifting, they think they can be, too. Why do we keep electing people who see us as marks?
November 13, 2025 at 1:46 PM
I wonder about the timing of this, too. Like...did the Whitehouse feel the Epstein files are at last scrubbed & give the nod to end the shutdown? Suddenly, Johnson is fine swearing in Grijalva.

But this implies that the 8 caving Dems were in on the game, & that's a tough pill to swallow.
November 12, 2025 at 4:08 PM
The system Trump fantasizes about doesn't work. We tried it. People with pre-exes (50% of us) couldn't get insurance. That's why we HAVE the ACA.

Also: 48% of those with ACA coverage are self-employed or small biz owners. They already "feel" like entrepreneurs. Shouldn't a president know that?
November 11, 2025 at 2:15 PM
In 10 months, the ONLY thing Republicans have done is intentionally make every single thing about life in U.S. harder & more expensive.

Unless you're a millionaire or billionaire.

Then you're good.

So, he keeps a notebook by his bed at night, dreaming up new ways to screw over Americans?
November 10, 2025 at 10:06 PM
Yes, it WAS working. People are angry & engaged, and GOP was starting to feel the pressure.

...until 8 isolated, tone-deaf Dems offered them a bailout. For ZERO in return. What a massive betrayal of the people they're supposed to represent.

Please keep fighting & speaking up, Senator Murphy.
November 10, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Unlike Shaheen, I thought staying in shutdown mode WAS getting us somewhere. The elections showed people are engaged & angry.

The airlines fiasco seemed to be getting under GOP's skin (sadly, starving people didn't). As Thanksgiving approaches, it would turn up the heat. So, why cave NOW?
November 10, 2025 at 3:38 PM
...and Dems wonder why voters are gravitating to Mamdani.

They are their own worst enemy.
November 10, 2025 at 2:57 AM
Dems once again snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory. What an absolute travesty.
November 10, 2025 at 2:34 AM
I tried calling Senator Durbin, bit couldn't leave a voicemail "due to high call volumes."

So I called Senator Duckworth, encouraged her to keep standing firm...and to pass the message along.

But maybe high call volumes is a good thing?
November 10, 2025 at 12:07 AM
So compelling. Makes me sad and hopeful all at once.
November 9, 2025 at 3:40 PM
It is stunning, and I don't understand how it can possibly be legal for Trump to withhold and give away taxpayer funds with zero oversight.

Although nothing about this administration is remotely legal.
November 9, 2025 at 3:37 PM
Mamdani is going to implement Shangri-La law and everyone will live in paradise.
November 9, 2025 at 1:45 PM
How is it that the gov "couldn't" fund SNAP due to all these obscure rules and processes...but Trump could just write a $40 billion check to Argentina on his own in the blink of an eye?
November 7, 2025 at 9:26 PM
So, our Secretary of Health skedaddles (show's over!) and our feckless leader stands there steaming, ticked off that he's been upstaged?

How is this real life? Our leaders are...monsters. An SNL skit can't even do this justice.
