Love somebody. Make them food. Wife and I married 36 years. We try to laugh about something every day. Columbus, Ohio USA.
Smoked turkey turned out pretty well with Pecan and Apple! Spatchcock bird cooked FAST ~15 min a pound at 225-250F. Skin very dark brown due to the rub, but meat was juicy.
Decent but not entirely arty breakdown due to Old Fashioneds and Napa Cab while waiting. 🦃 🍽️🍜 #BBQmunity

Roasted Spaghetti Squash with cherry tomatoes, Boursin cheese, and chicken sausage. Nice to make a dish that comes with it's own serving vessel! 🍽️🍜

Not much for eating turkey on Thanksgiving anymore, but apparently I bought enough groceries last month to get a free one. Spent my lunch break butterflying a 16# bird. Dry brining in the fridge now until Saturday and I'll smoke it. 🍽️🍜 #BBQmunity

I'm at a conference and five glasses of wine into the evening, the dessert table looks especially appealing. 😳🍷

Rotisserie chicken turned into Chix Salad served as broiled, open face sandwich on artisan sourdough toast with tomatoes and cheddar cheese. Honeycrisp apple slices and cheddar Smart Pop. Quite satisfying. 🍽️🍜

Welcome to Central Ohio where "Trick-or-Treating" (not called that) is held during a specified 2 hr period and never on a Fri/Sat/Sun. So brave the mid 40F temps, the rain and 15-20 mph wind gusts this Thursday evening ONLY between 6-8 for a full-sized candy. We'll leave the light on for 'ya.

Blueberry Crumble with homegrown blueberries (not my home). Not surprisingly there are all kinds of flavors you don't find in storebought, even organic berries. Of course extra amazing with Vanilla ice cream 🍽️🍜

For the family reunion on NC last weekend my spouse made an incredible lasagna filled with two kinds of sausage, ham, hard boiled eggs, spinach and mushrooms. Mixed green salad with manchego, apples, and walnuts. Being GF she couldn't eat it but plans a polenta version 🍽️🍜

#1 coming out from a health adventure this week. The first thing she wanted to eat was... Chicken and Wild Rice Soup. Used rotisserie chicken for the stock and the soup. 🍽️🍜 Lots of catch up from last weekend coming!

I've had plenty of Farm-to-Table meals, but I'll admit this was my first "Oh and the Chipotle Beef came from the cow we raised" 😮. Also rice, black beans and a corn casserole with house grown corn. 🍽️😐

Visiting my sister in NC. Tito's Bloody Mary with homemade mix, fresh cucumber spear, and pickled green beans and radishes. All veg homegrown, but Feta from Costco. 🍽️🍜

Nice appetizer of artisanal sourdough toast with a homemade cannellini bean spread, TJs olive tapenade, and finely grated parm. 🍽️🍜

Sheet Pan Chicken Shawarma over rice with homemade Tzatziki and cucumber slices. Amazing meal #1 threw together! 🍽️🍜

Pork Loin Roast with roasted apples and sweet onions. I made a decent sauce too. People say they'd love a dinner invitation. Well in addition to great conversation, the best guests bring us breakfast for the next day, Bourbon we can't find locally, and flowers. Everybody wins! 🍽️🍜❤️

I cleaned out the freezer of everything that was more than 2 years old. The biggest community #compost run I've done. Probably had 35-40 pounds, including the usual stuff.

Lovely Fall evening so we enjoyed Ina Garten "Weeknight Bolognese" over Spaghetti Squash by the fire pit. My contribution to this meal was riding my #CargoBike to 3 stores yesterday to find suitable squash and opening a Lake County, CA Merlot for dinner. 🍽️🍜

Dinner entree salad of roasted sweet potato, lightly roasted kale, pulled rotisserie chicken, cherry tomatoes, pecans, and dried cherries with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. 🍽️🍜

Maple Pear Cheesecake Tart. It's gluten free with a crust of GF ginger cookies and some GF flour. (A slice with coffee on the porch this AM already made my day) 🍽️🍜

Planning small dinner party tomorrow for a friend moving to Northern Chicago 'burbs. My spouse went ahead and laminated this, so apparently the menu is now fixed! 🍽️🍜

Had a few coworkers over for casual snacks: pulled pork sliders, Mac and cheese, roasted corned and black bean casserole with hatch chilies, blues cheese coleslaw and chips. 🍽️🍜

Grilling the Hatch Chilies seemed like a good idea. Will use those in a dish. 🍽️🍜 #BBQmunity

Serious Question #BBQmunity: For a "Meat +3" does Cornbread count? If not, I shortchanged my guests last week with only Cole Slaw and Garlic Potato sides with the Brisket. There was a nice homemade bourbon BBQ sauce though. 🍽️🍜

Mrs WDS started off our morning with fresh GF Waffles topped with Cranberry Almond Brie and from the Farmer's Market and Maple Chicken Sausage. 🍽️🍜

Patio cocktail before we hit the food trucks down the street. "Old Fashioned" with 8yo aged Rum, simple syrup, Angustora bitters and orange peel. 🍽️🍜
