Any ‘trying to get home’ tv show needs a definitive series ending, shame that (outside of fan-fiction) D&D never got one

Great cartoon though, was a staple of my after-school TV watching (armed with a packet of quavers and some vimto)

- to raptourous applause, and the evil collapses in on itself in a satisfying spectacle

Come on USA, Tr*mp = buffoonish bad guy propped up by out-of-control party, the whole world is willing on his comeuppance🤞

- in the comment sections.

Maybe YT you could prioritise showing me interesting or insightful comments first? It would be nice if there was a setting for that.

(I’ll refrain from asking for a ‘pedantic’ comment filter at the same time! That would be my follow up request…)

- as grumpy here😔 I’m always in awe of quick wit, the issue is when it never ends

The comment sections so often have the virtual equivalent of the class clown, shouting from the back to cause a titter

And that is fine, there is funny stuff there. I’m just saying I don’t always want maximum mirth -

No matter how bad things get in the U.S you will cling onto your faith, maintain it is all part of "God's plan" and it is all going to come good

It isn't. It won't.

I hope #MAGA are voted out, Christian evangelicals lose influence and the world gets resilient to hacking the population with lies

It eats away at me knowing you will never admit you screwed up. To do so would admit your God is fallible, and then your whole house of cards falls down - to see Christianity as just lies passed through the generations, #MAGA as a bubble of lies passed through right-wing-media, social-media and bots

The choice of bundling a BASIC programming manual in the box unintentionally kickstarted the UK tech industry, let curious kids like me figure out how to start writing computer software

I did not disturb him - if I spot a celeb, I think it polite to just leave them be

Not too much more to this story, other than to say I'm glad I got to see Sir Clive in person. He had hits and misses during his life as product inventor, but with the Spectrum he absolutely hit it out of the park

It was surreal - he was chief creator of the ZX Spectrum computer that had a huge effect on my early life, sparking my interest in computing (which eventually became my career path) and here he was - a few spots ahead of me in the checkout queue

*To be fair - I did see an occasional post about 'Brexit' and more recently 'Nintendo Switch 2 ordering' but those were real outliers

I'm aware I come across as a luddite for saying these things!

(An unusual position for me - I am usually all about the tech)

For my own use, I worry if I fully hand over sentence construction to software, over time I will lose the ability to write for myself

Use it or lose it, as they say!

Yes, I know AI text generation can be instructed to provide informal output too

But I'm talking about the defaults, where 'on average' writing assist tools will end up homogenising the written word output from all of us
