Genuinely, without a hint of irony, the lack of willingness to stand up and actually moderate your communities is one of the biggest downfalls of the modern internet age.

the source problem with what feels like the majority of things in America is: there's a nontrivial percentage of people who are obsessively aggrieved with things to the point of mental illness, they have nothing going on in their lives and no community that would moderate their behavior at all
It was a perfect viral moment, a 5 second video snippet that appeared to tell an entire story. Then the country got way, way, way too invested.

With art sorted, that left the next hurdle: the mechanics. Unlike FIN, I could focus more on what makes FFXIV, well, FFXIV. The MMORPG aspect comes to the forefront and it seemed really important to make use of the Party mechanic from ZNR.

The biggest hurdle for a fan MtG project is finding art. But going through the pages of fanart made me realize FFXIV has the greatest troves of creators. Between Eorzea Collection, GPOSERS, and more, the players proved to be the perfect way to depict Eorzea for these cards.

Having worked on it since 2017, the entire process has given me renewed respect for the design team at WotC with how much goes into making a set.
