the issue I have with a lot of non-Fromsoft souls likes is an absence of whimsy. dark souls is often dour and sorrowful but it is also replete with silly little creatures and goofy guys.

it pains me to not say Like a Dragon but Paradise Killer was probably my face at the time. I think Cyberpunk may have bumped it out of the spot. that game is, for all it's many flaws past and present, a really interesting Thing

I'm enjoying guardians of azama quite a bit. a lot of these farming games theme themselves around developing or rebuilding a town but this one really leans into it. having little stat boosts on everything you can build tickles my brain.
