A trans teen in Iowa completed suicide after severe bullying by classmates and teachers.

"Miles’ death came a day after a substitute teacher refused to use his preferred pronouns."

It's the type of bullying @thefireorg.bsky.social and @aricohn.com support.

I still read this album title in Joe Brown's voice, as advertised on TV at the time.
#EveryAlbumIOwn Seven And The Ragged Tiger. Duran Duran. 1983.
Top 3 tunes: The Reflex, I Take The Dice, Shadows On Your Side
You can skip: The Seventh Stranger
Rating: 8/10

All the singles are great, but pretty much everything else is as good or better, even the instrumental.

I still maintain "Van Helsing" should have been a musical with songs by Jim Steinman. It would still have flopped but would probably have gone on to become one of the most beloved films ever with stage versions in cities worldwide raking in billions.

Star Trek III destroyed one Enterprise, but gave us a generous helping of new ships (plus a spacedock) to compensate. The Bird of Prey and Excelsior went on to become fan favourites, but one is not so universally loved.

If I had any any musical talent I would record a response song to The Blockheads’ “Wake Up and Make Love To Me“ from the POV of his partner called “Not Now, Ian, I’m Tired and I Have Work In The Morning “.

I’m really enjoying this stage of Pierce’s career as a bemused veteran. I get the impression he is too. He’s got such a relaxed charisma… which is rare these days. He totally stole Black Adam.
I do have to laugh at that Pierce Brosnan interview with the Subway Takes guy who told him he thought Pierce was "British all along, turns out you're not" only for Pierce to reply

"What a great actor."

Even the boxes for Playmobil’s Asterix figures cheer me up. The packaging for the village of the independent Gauls is a joy. As indeed is the village itself. I wish we had the same for Pogo’s Swamp, & Dan Dare’s Southport Space Fleet HQ, & Midtown High with Spider-Man & the Spider Slayer etc etc

Everything about this ‘peace deal’ is appalling. Hand-crafted in Moscow and adopted by a Trump regime that panders to dictators.

Forcing Ukraine to strip itself of territory & its ability to defend itself is despicable.

Here is Trump's full 28 point plan for Ukraine. It would destroy Ukraine as a sovereign state and leave it helpless to face a Russian attack in the future. It would also give Putin full vindication and immunity from prosecution.
