I turned on the Super Bowl because I wanted to see the halftime show and saw that Dunkin Donuts ad and a crypto ad and I hate absolutely everything now. Burn it all to the stumps.

Every single software program associated with my job sucks: Outlook, Qualtrics, Watermark, Oracle, etc. How are they all this clumsy? What happened to user experience?

I have been of the opinion for about five years now that we are all mostly clinging to the *idea* of social media. But that it has not existed, as we mean it, since Jack sold Twitter. The minute capital lined up to fold social media into its technocratic political consolidation, it stopped existing.

Whenever a law enforcement officer shoots an unarmed person or even an armed person for that matter, those who would justify that behavior are doing so under the belief that the death penalty, without judge or jury, is an appropriate response.

I point this out for clarity. I also have a long-term interest in how my crafting of ideas is sometimes confused for the very serious idea being crafted. So to be clear: AI is political attack on labor with few limited cases for social value and an absolute ecological disaster.

Earlier this year, I made two trips to Sudan, where a terrible civil war has displaced 14 million people. The state is absent, international institutions are weak.Outside powers, motivated by greed and nihilism, have stepped into the vacuum

As end-of-empire scenarios go it is so much more dignified to get your capital city sacked by the Visigoths than to have a bunch of illiterate rich people in their 70s doing it through a series of incomprehensible tantrums because their brains were defeated by their phones.
