This was my first thought. As a records manager for thirty years, this immediately sounded to me like an attempt to circumvent federal recordkeeping and reporting requirements, and as such, it becomes criminal activity.

This is exactly the right way to deal with a megalomaniac. No conversation until Trump respects Canadian sovereignty.

Everyone... EVERYONE... Needs to understand it's not safe to travel to the US.
It doesn't matter what country you're coming from, what your citizenship status is, or even what politics you hold.
ICE may snatch anyone, for any reason.
Every border crossing is rolling the dice.
Just don't do it.

This continues to be jaw-droppingly insane. The "Justice Department" (quotes intentional) under Pam Bondi is fighting AGAINST a federal judge, trying to argue he doesn't have the right to make any check on executive authority. This is upside-down-town. And terrifyingly dangerous.
