Trump is blinking so fast on these tariffs, it's like he's trying to send morse code.

At this moment, the Dow is down ANOTHER 2,000 points, wiping out more than a year of gains.

How is this winning working out for everybody?

Stop mincing words. Soft-pedaling fascism with less frightening words is exactly what they want.

This was my first thought. As a records manager for thirty years, this immediately sounded to me like an attempt to circumvent federal recordkeeping and reporting requirements, and as such, it becomes criminal activity.

This is exactly the right way to deal with a megalomaniac. No conversation until Trump respects Canadian sovereignty.

P.S... I'm now giving a free ride on the trebuchet for any of my followers/friend who support either Trump or Poilievre. Feel free to out yourself, if you'd like a free ride...

The ultimate result of Trump’s assault on academia: A massive brain-drain of our best minds. Who thinks this can end well?

I made the front cover!

Well, okay, it was 1977, and just my high school newspaper, but still…

Re-reading one of the classics. Unfortunately, the sequel is going to suck.

Everyone... EVERYONE... Needs to understand it's not safe to travel to the US.

It doesn't matter what country you're coming from, what your citizenship status is, or even what politics you hold.

ICE may snatch anyone, for any reason.

Every border crossing is rolling the dice.

Just don't do it.

Canadians: Be careful out there. We're about to be hit with massive disinformation efforts, coming out of Russia...

This continues to be jaw-droppingly insane. The "Justice Department" (quotes intentional) under Pam Bondi is fighting AGAINST a federal judge, trying to argue he doesn't have the right to make any check on executive authority. This is upside-down-town. And terrifyingly dangerous.

Tell me this photo isn’t horrifying.

The men with their roughly shaved heads, huddled together on the floor in their underwear. The guards with their faces covered, hovering over them with batons and riot shields.

America, what a sad, terrifying, pathetic nightmare you’ve become…

But dozens or hundreds of times every day, all over the country, until this stops.

Sometimes grammar checkers are just wildly wrong. I've been getting a lot of results like this recently in ProWriting Aid...

And if they can be this wrong, I'm sure AI is even less reliable...

Today’s book recommendation. This one was a devastating read. I haven’t yet read The Kite Runner, but it’s now on my list. Hosseini writes compelling and powerful prose, and his characters are absolutely engaging.

Back in the early 1980s I spent two of my years at the University of Utah trying to learn Sanskrit. All I have left of that experience are four binders of notes and translations, and a couple of textbooks, reinforced with duct tape.

If you’re in the US, resolve to NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN.

If you’re in Canada, resolve to NEVER VOTE CONSERVATIVE.

Different rodeo. Same clowns.
