What new horror did the Supreme Court unleash this afternoon?

At @lawdorknews.bsky.social, I explain: “In short, seven justices are allowing eight people to be sent to South Sudan.”

Read my full report at Law Dork now:
SCOTUS allows Trump admin to send eight men to South Sudan with no process
Sotomayor, joined by Jackson, dissented, calling their colleagues' actions in the case "indefensible." It was one of several alarming signs for the nation on the Third of July.

The 200 Marines being sent for "administration" are from MWSS-272. Their normal job is to set up expeditionary airfields and manage things like lights, power, equipment, and buildings in an environment exactly like Alligator Auschwitz.

They sent the Marines to run the concentration camp.

The for-profit prison company GEO Group has surged in value under President Trump.

But despite its soaring fortunes, the ICE contractor has continued to resist having to pay detainees more than $1 a day for cleaning facilities where the government has forced them to live.

An ICE Contractor Is Worth Billions. It’s Still Fighting to Pay Detainees as Little as $1 a Day to Work.
GEO Group, whose stock is valued at $4 billion, says that state minimum wage laws don’t apply to the cleaning services that it’s asked detained migrants to perform at facilities where they’re kept.

A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration cannot deny entry to people crossing the southern border to apply for asylum. The court found that neither the constitution nor federal immigration law allow the president to make that decision.

The ruling was a win for immigrant advocacy groups that sued over the president's order, which they say put thousands of lives at risk.

The Supreme Court in a 6-3 decision reverses a precedent set in a unanimous decision by the court in 1935 and now says the president can fire heads of independent agencies like the FTC or NLRB.

Except for the Fed. Why? Because tanking the stock market is where the conservative judges draw the line
Supreme Court allows Trump to fire members of independent agency boards — for now
At issue is President Trump's firing of NLRB member Gwen Wilcox, who still has three years left on her term, and Cathy Harris, who still has four years left on her term as a member of the MSPB.
