Obviously we all know Bluesky is a retirement home for elder millennials but, if you happen to know any 18-30 people who might like to take a shot at this, do pass it on!

A letter in today's Globe relies on the silly argument that, because slavery was abolished in the British empire in 1834 and "Canada" was formed in 1867, there has never been slavery in Canada.

But Canada existed as a colony of that name from the Constitution Act of 1791

With slavery

What better way to observe the end of slavery than a rich old white man yelling to work harder.

Immigrants aren’t the problem. Othering immigrants is a deliberate strategy to encourage people to hate each other rather than examine what severe wealth inequality is doing to our societies.

The city of Tulsa, home to one of the most horrifying racial-terror massacres in U.S. history and the people who tried to cover it up, has announced a $105 million reparations package.
Tulsa announces reparations for the 1921 ‘Black Wall Street’ massacre
It took decades of research by historians and journalists — and reports by state and federal commissions — to uncover the violence that claimed more than 300 Black lives.

While I'm on the general subject of "AI," let me just say that it's a real dickheaded maneuver to tell an actual artist that their work "looks like AI." Their work doesn't look like "AI" because they're aping what "AI" does; it looks like "AI" because the "AI" company fucking stole from them.

I really did not foresee that in 2025 only white straight men would be allowed to have a history

A search on amazon will show you what is out there. Note: It's hard to hold a real camera still enough for document photos. I rigged a camera holder with my camera stand, but still, pressing the button tends to shake the camera at the crucial moment. My document-camera is thrillingly efficient.
