"World's first potential trillionaire has killed 600,000 people, including 400,000 children" is the only headline that anyone should ever read about Elon Musk
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

In a field of really awful tech bros, Karp is perhaps the worst.
Okay, maybe it's Thiel, but Karp ain't far off.

Whatever you do, don’t ask Palantir’s Alex Karp: “How worried are you about the Nick Fuentes wing of MAGA?”

Hack the hyperstition!
What will accountability look like for billionaires (or trillionaires) who try to overthrow our democracy?
I have some ideas.
Let’s imagine futures that aren’t fascist tech dystopias.
Let’s hack the “hyperstition.”

The TRILLIONAIRE Technocrats Are REELING
Billionaires are gaining all the wealth, Musk might become the first trillionaire, and Trump continues grifting, but the majority is fighting back & waking up to the broligarchy's techno-fascist plot.

The rich now have an unbelievable sense of entitlement. If you watch the recent All-In podcast interview with Pete Buttigieg, one of their biggest problems with Biden - that led to them pivoting to Trump, supposedly - was that they couldn't just walk into his office and tell him what they wanted.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

I keep thinking of this episode from THE OTHER TWO in which Brooke dates a series of billionaires who all turn out to be clones of Jeff Bezos -- bald, roided-out, self-centered idiots who only care about going to space.
Can't find it online, but this fan-made video catches the best parts:

Still amazes me that a year ago Tesla and Elon Musk unveiled their 'Optimus' robots and pretended they were autonomous in order to bump the company share price, never officially admitting that they were remote-controlled by humans, and nobody seems to care.

She wrote a prescient and scathing book, "Cyberselfish."
It tanked her career, but a new generation is discovering her work as tech fascism tries to kill democracy 👇

If anyone thinks Thiel's view is a one-off, note that Palmer Luckey of weapons company Anduril (another part of the Thielverse) gave a talk at Thiel's Hereticon in 2024 in which he said the Na'avi in James Cameron's 'Avatar' were the bad guys for stopping progress.

A reminder that Peter Thiel loves a piece of Tolkien fan-fiction that paints Sauron and Mordor as the good guys because they're a "technological civilization", while the elves, hobbits and men are bad because they're all "mystical and environmental"...
