I was considering netbox for AWS VPC CIDR management but that seemed like overkill, so I whipped up something basic to programmatically handle that: github.com/looprock/cid...

I just launched my weekend project: Lonelyweb Videos is designed to showcase obscure YouTube videos. The web is full of weird, wild and funny things when you stray from the well-trodden path and this site is intended to be a reminder of that. lonely.media

It seems to me a fair number of people who have made a lot of money off things built with open source software have used that money to make things really hard on other people. I cannot help but think we might be better off hard-forking open source projects under copyleft licenses going forward.

No matter where you are on the political spectrum, I think we all have a vested interest in ensuring our voting system is free, fair and reliable. Any cyber security people here might want to see if they can be involved in this: www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

I recently wrote a light-weight directory/RBAC glue service and, while I'm not particularly proud of the codebase, I hope some of you might find it useful:

So what do you guys think, Trump's trade wars kill tech manufacturing. New data centers halt, and, as hardware dies current ones are unable to function. People eventually give up on the internet. The need for massive power infrastructure disappears and global warming halts. Trump saves the world?

My theory about this is that there are a lot of billionaire tech entrepreneurs who were first movers (which, yes, here’s your pat on the back) just by throwing shit against the wall if they had any tech skills at all and a little bit of timing and luck
It remains astounding to me, as someone who had a few small interactions with Marc, how much a little criticism directed at him turned him into such a baby.

Like literally none of what he says here is accurate.
By “free speech” they meant “make it illegal to dislike me”

I think all of this continues to show the need for a decentralized internet where we, the users, are the ones who control our data and identity.

I understand the concerns about ceding ground and removing your voice from platforms expressing ideologies you disagree with, but you're also putting money in the pockets of the owners of those platforms and supporting them.

I officially deleted my meta accounts today (after waiting for quite a while to for my data to be available to download), just like I did ex-twitter before it. I was barely a user there so it's not big loss and mostly stayed for a few of the family.

If you're having a baby, my #1 recommendation... Above some public space, put a poster with the bullet points: dirty diaper? hungry? cold? because when you're trying to troubleshoot your baby at 3am it's easy to forget what to check without a Runbook and babies come with zero observability.
