Sekowsky is nowhere close to my favorite artist, but that Brave and the Bold issue sports one of my favorite covers. Of course it’s got historic value, but the composition is incredible — Starro’s limbs and the JLA heroes’ action poses keep the eye flowing perfectly.

Old school example: I distinctly remember watching Misery, wanting so badly for James Caan to fuck up Kathy Bates, because why wouldn’t you root for her painful demise?!
But afterwards, I sat in the car upon leaving the theater and felt sick from how revenge-thirsty it had made me.
