Constantly wondering why breakfast burritos outside of New Mexico are so bad. Long-suffering fan of The Cleveland Browns. Medium-suffering fan of Minnesota United. Short-suffering fan of Willem II.

Anyone in the Netherlands want to offer me a job?
I have never been less interested in seeing a schedule. The schedule change pretty much killed my interest in this league, so it’s not like I’d pay to go to a game again. So why should I care what team is playing when?

And again, it's not the hottest month of the year. In Dallas, Houston, Miami, etc. Sept is about the same if not hotter than June. They're still playing through the worst of the heat.

And it's not like they can shift all of those May matches to March, Sept or Nov, given the international breaks.

I just don't see it. June is already thin on matches thanks to the international break. Last year it had just 44 regular season matches compared to 55 in August and September, 60 in April and 98(!) in May.

Of course, since they're still playing in late July and early August, that curve isn't going to shift all that much.

You remember all the empty seats at the home opener this year? You know how many more empty seats we’ll see for match day 16 games in February after two months off?

As for temps in the third week of February we still have average highs below freezing and lows around 14°F.
November 13, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Beyond that, there have only been 21 December games in the history of the league. This year will make it 22. That number will be eclipsed in the second week of December the first year of the change.

People who say shit like “we already play in November and February are being disingenuous.
November 13, 2025 at 11:03 PM
The league only plays on the last weekend in February, this move will start the season up at least one week earlier in February.

Additionally, half the league stops play in the middle of October and only eight teams play *any* games after about November 9.

It is very different.

They polled a bunch of people in Miami and LA.

Since you guys deleted your last post on this I’ll say it again:

All I need to know is that I'm not spending another dollar on MLS or @mnufc.com due to this change.
November 13, 2025 at 10:55 PM
And yet they’ll still be playing in late July and August with the new calendar.

Those poor suffering southern teams will just have to keep on suffering.
November 13, 2025 at 10:43 PM
Yep. Like I mentioned in another comment, Montreal has played exactly *one* home match in the month of November in its entire MLS existence (and only 5 total). And that was a game on Nov 1.
November 13, 2025 at 10:41 PM
Will they also get free parkas and frostbite treatment since you sold them out with the schedule change?

All I need to know is that I'm not spending another dollar on MLS or @mnufc.com due to this change.

People need to stop parroting this BS line & look at how many games have actually been played in those months & how many games will now be played in those months.

Here's a starting point for you. Montreal has played exactly one home game in November in their MLS history, and that was a Nov 1 game.
