So, stop the season for 8 weeks in the middle. Have northern teams on the road around the break so they have no home games for 3 months. Have the first week back swallowed up by the Super Bowl. Shave 4 weeks off of the offseason and hold training camp during the Gold Cup.

How could it not succeed?

With the release of their new kit this morning, MNUFC is clearly signaling their intent to make a big splash on the market and pursue Heracles Almelo striker Jizz Hornkamp as their next big signing in the coming summer window.
The jersey from the new "Convergence" kit released by Minnesota United FC this morning two shades of blue with an abstract white streak up the middle that looks like… well, let's be euphemistic and say that it looks like a teenage boy's bedsheets.

Finally got the gym put together in the basement and lifted weights for the first time in… way too long. Three notes:

1. Goddamn am I out of shape.
2. I am going to hurt bad in a couple of days.
3. I still hate squats.
My weight bench/squat rack along with my dumbbell stack and rowing machine. There’s also a pile of cardboard boxes that once held the tiles that now cover the floor.

Made poffertjes for breakfast yesterday, though I cooked them in an æbleskiver pan, so I probably wound up on some watch list in the Netherlands and may no longer be allowed to enter the country.

Eet smakelijk! 🍽️ Eat up!
Pile of freshly cooked poffertjes sitting in a grey dish, appropriately topped with more butter than might seem sensible (a.k.a. The proper amount of butter) and an interim dose of powdered sugar. A fresh layer of sugar is yet to be added. A couple of them are minor disasters as I tried to do the first batch æbleskiver style to make them more spherical, but that just doesn’t work with poffertjes batter. In the background is the stick of butter and the powdered sugar shaker we used to top them, as well as my wooden pokey-flippy device, a knife (used to cut an out of picture Anello di Monaco that is resting on the stove) and the lid of the jar of apricot preserves that I used to fill some of these. Poffertjes cooking in my æbleskiver pan. Seven round dollops of fluffy buckwheat batter (six in a ring around one central poffertje), gently browning on my stove (which desperately needs cleaning).

Related to Paul, I just picked this one up for a Christmas gift for someone (who better not see this post). We loved him on the show, and the book looks quite good.

It’s little more that a toy at this point, fairly wonky and severely limited, but I am having a hoot-and-a-half making silly pictures of our pets with Apple’s new Image Playground.
Apple Image Playground generated picture of our two dogs: Cop Dog and the Fun Police (actual nicknames we’ve given our dogs). Cop Dog is a black retriever mix wearing a police hat and… I don’t know, perhaps that is a tie with his badge on it. The fun police is a corgi with a white collar and another tie / badge combo. Apple Image Playground generated image of our fluffy white cat Bruno living his dream: King of the house, sitting on the couch with more snacks than he can eat and the center of everyone’s attention. Apple Image Playground created image of our other cat, grey and fluffy, sitting in a box, wearing an army helmet, ready to attack her brother if he dares to cross the border from the living room into her kitchen territory.

I don’t know… this is why I have precisely zero interest in even taking a glance at F1.

I’m sure there are people who enjoy this sort of set up, but there are also plenty of people that it turns off just as much.
I'm sure MLS execs want their own "F1: Drive to Survive" show where they have cameras following around MLS players and coaches hoping that some scandalous drama plays out in intense ways on the screen. But they need to stop and consider the effortless narrative that F1 starts with because of having a few dominant teams (when the show debuted it was one dominant team and a bunch of unmitigated disasters if I remember correctly).

Juist: ophef. En hoe ontstaat ophef? Juist, bijna altijd via geschreeuw en gescheld. In English: Quite logical. Bluesky's algorithm is also trained by attention and engagement. And what was that attention and commitment again with text-driven social media with a word limit? Right: upset. And how does the upset arise? That's right, almost always through screaming and cursing.
