I am always amused by the progression of Unix/Linux apps.
1) Static Linking
2) Hey, we could save disk space with dynamic linking
3) Dammit, this program needs xxx.so.1.2.5 and all I have is xxx.so.1.3.4
4) Lets bundle the app with ALL of it's dynamic libraries
5) Soon, how bout just static linking?
