100% Such absurd reactions by folks who really are disconnected from the reality of how things actually function in government.

This analysis is incorrect - the data is wrong - I have been manually coding all speeches and the underlying data is fundamentally incorrect. Further, this analysis is failing to take into account race, agenda items, and the decision by some Councilors to speak more in Committee meetings.

It's amazing the bad faith pretense that they don't understand what "co-equal" means - like what do you think it means. Co= as important as police/fire. Co= is that when you speak about "first responders" you are not only referring to police/fire. Co= is that PSR is = part of convo response options

After watching a full day of budget conversations, a few more observations:

*Councilor Smith is a fighter too. I don’t always agree with her, but she goes hard for D1.

*Councilor Novick is definitely a wild card.

*Councilor Pirtle Guiney has a tough job.

*Councilor Zimmerman isn’t nice.

Thank you for live-tweeting! The amendment that failed (Kanal 1) would've shifted $ from deputy director roles in small (mgmt heavy) bureaus to save 2+ Office of Equity & Human Rights jobs being cut - racial justice, LGBTQIAA+, ADA compliance. Incredibly disappointing that this wasn't approved.

I find it amazing that Zimmerman calls out Morillo for impugning his motives given how often he does exactly that to other Council members. Morillo's points are excellent.

For basic transparency and for lessons learned, Council review of legal settlements should be more than a rote rubber stamp. Kanal's insistence on a public accounting of tracking amounts paid, legal fees and costs, and asking about policy changes implemented or needed is just good governance. 2/2
