An ex-appreciation post. He was by earlier to pick up his new tyres. We discussed our me-getting-a-new-PC project (he's building it because he's brilliant) and exchanged pleasantries. Taking the friendship and leaving the rest when a marriage fails is nice. This guy is one of my best friends.

An ex-appreciation post. He was by earlier to pick up his new tyres. We discussed our me-getting-a-new-PC project (he's building it because he's brilliant) and exchanged pleasantries. Taking the friendship and leaving the rest when a marriage fails is nice. This guy is one of my best friends.
This is a much older Newt hogging my chair. He died of cancer 10 Aug 2021, one day shy of his 17th birthday. Our last months together were extra special, and when he was ready, he let me know. He died peacefully, nestled in my arms purring. His vet Charlotte was amazing. I miss him so much.

This is a much older Newt hogging my chair. He died of cancer 10 Aug 2021, one day shy of his 17th birthday. Our last months together were extra special, and when he was ready, he let me know. He died peacefully, nestled in my arms purring. His vet Charlotte was amazing. I miss him so much.

I'm enjoying Veilguard, but I miss the stronger friendship vibes from other DA games. In DAI, my Inquisitor had an intense friendship bond with Dorian. But, while each #Rook has a favourite mate—and each is different—it's not as hard-hitting.

Genuine question. What do you do when you're too broken to work but too broke to retire? I'm 62f and nearly four months into extended sick leave, but I'm not improving. I fear I've worn myself out permanently. The only shiny bit is that at least I don't live in the US.

I bought a Vision Beam. This morning, tracking info was marked as delivered. Panic! Delivered? To where?!! No note. Checked the porch and back garden. Nothing. Walked back in, and there it was; I'd walked by it twice in my frantic search. Oh yeah. Now I remember. They'd handed it to me yesterday. 🤨

I've been trying to recall the title of a book I want to reread for about 15 years. Recently, someone asked for Robin Hobb style suggestions, and JV Jones sprung immediately to mind. With that, came the book title: The Barbed Coil. Funny how things just reappear in your mind as if they'd never left.

I took this photo for an Etsy review. (The midi ring is Etsy, and the spoon ring is a Ben the Spoonman creation.) What struck me – besides how pretty my rings are – is how much my hands resemble my mother's. It's not genetics; I'm adopted. But it's very cool. I always loved her hands.
