Recovering lawyer; un-redpilled defender of truth, democracy and the rule of law; wordsmith; world traveler; pescaphile; waterman; eternal student of history, art, culture, literature and science; and maker of many things, some good some not so good.
Visited my favorite urban tenkara trail today for some quiet contemplation. Caught and released half a dozen fine fat sunfish, resplendent in post-spawn colors, on a quill body soft hackle bead head. Spied a lively pileated woodpecker scratching the ground like a yard chicken on the trail out…

The weight of this relentless madness has been overwhelming. But yesterday I went to the front door of SCOTUS where I stood shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of brother and sister lawyers. We reaffirmed our oaths to “demean myself uprightly and according to law and to support the Constitution”

A comment on Bill Maher. I stopped watching him years ago because I thought he was a mean arrogant dick. And here we are with him singing the praises of a convicted felon sex offender who is tanking the economy and ruining lives for fun. Ever notice how cruel arrogant dicks are drawn to each other?

One of nature’s many gifts to humanity is that beautiful flowers herald the end of winter’s cold and darkness, and remind us of the promise of eternal renewal. A fitting thought after yesterday’s mass “hands off!” demonstration, where I stood with hundreds of thousands of other beautiful flowers

#handsoff dc. BIG turnout at the Washington Monument today. Sure the oligarchy’s media misinformation machine will ignore or downplay the numbers, but it was way more than 50 or 60k. Old, young, all races and creeds came together peaceably assembled and exercised our precious Constitutional rights.

Hegseth Ratcliffe and Gabbard straight up lied to the public and Congress about their infantile insecure Signal exchange of Houthi strike plans. Do they think anyone is fooled by their incompetent clown show? Everyone sees what you are: unfit unpatriotic incompetent and a threat to national security

Took another crack at urban tenkara fishing near my home today. Water still too cold for sunfish and bass, but while I was there a truck showed up and dudes started dumping drywall buckets of rainbows in the creek for put and take season opening Saturday. Also saw a huge and noisy hawk. Good omens?

Just sent this text to my law school classmate, who is the chairman of Sullivan & Cromwell, and is representing Donald Trump on his criminal appeal, and who I suspect helped broker the Paul Weiss deal. Brad Karp is the chairman of Paul Weiss.

Shameful. When in practice I thought most PW lawyers I encountered were dicks. Didn’t know they were cowardly lickspittles to boot…
It is a sad day for the legal industry. Paul Weiss, didn't just bend a knee, it set a new standard for shameful capitulation. This is a stain on the firm, every one of its partners, and the entire legal profession.

In all the madness we need to pay attention to this. People are already dying because of this reckless lawless thug regime.
If you’re an American and you’re Diabetic or has Cancer and need Treatment, our government wants us dead at this point.
A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.

Torching Teslas and vandalizing dealerships are crimes. Boycotts and anti-TSLA views are not, nor are they terrorism. Don't do felonies in resisting DOGE's illegal unconstitutional actions. Leave that to the convicted felon in the White House and his band of thugs. Tesla is self-destructing anyway.
