I was pleased to see the ovation for Mario Lemieux last night.
It was one of my first sportswriting assignments when Lemieux gave me an hour of his time after the 1987 Canada Cup, sitting in the stands in Pittsburgh after practice.
He still has something Wayne Gretzky does not:
Class.
