#TTC finally numbered their bus bays in GTFS! This matters because nowadays, apps are as important as signage in a wayfinding system. This change will make it easier to find where your bus departs from.

I went to Mount Dennis and Caledonia stations
The vehicular entrance sign at Mount Dennis stands by the driveway leading to former Kodak building 9. Low and wide, it has the TTC, GO, and UP logos in coloured boxes, the “circle T” regional transit indicator, the station name and address, and an icon for pick up / drop off. Looking down the long, straight tunnel at Caledonia station under Allen Road. It’s all very boxy. It’s predominantly white and gray, with pops of colour from an orange bench and coloured wayfinding icons. The tunnel is only lit by light strips and ad spots on the left and daylight at the far end. Looking down at level 3 of Caledonia station. It’s a very white and open space. The escalators down to Line 5 are fenced off. On a far wall is a mural of colourful stripes and circles. View northwest from Weston Road and Rogers Road. Looking down the road, between the fall-coloured trees, and across the rail corridor that crosses the scene diagonally, former Kodak building 9 stands tall and bright in its white paint.

Looking across a tree-canopied lawn to the side of a Durham Region Transit bus at North Campus Terminal. Gently sunlit, its green and black stripes and frameless windows look neat on its white body. Its windows reflect back the tree canopy.

Hello, I’m Walter. I’m a university student studying mechatronics engineering (may specialize in railway engineering if I make it through 2nd year). My hobbies are making maps, wayfinding, and userstyles. I listen to a lot of music, mainly Powerwolf, country/folk/pop, and lo-fi right now.
Screenshot of Inkscape, an SVG editor. I’m making a map of buses from Durham College / Ontario Tech University. The main part of the page shows the bus routes as lines radiating from campus — the map is in a realistic style within 1 km from campus, and becomes simple line diagrams further out. To the right is a smaller map of the campus bus terminal showing bus bay locations and a list of all bus routes departing from campus. A screenshot of the RioCan Windfields shopping plaza as shown on OpenStreetMap. I contributed to much of what’s shown. Four destination sign designs (for the screens on bus exteriors that show their route and destination). Clockwise from top left: side sign for “Pulse 901” featuring a pixel art version of DRT’s Pulse logo, front sign for “viva silver to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre” with a 2 pixel tall version of the “VIVA” logo and the word “TO” on a half decorative white vertical stripe in the middle of the screen, a front sign for “915 Ajax Station” featuring a pixel art version of the Metrolinx standard train icon, and a “Proof-of-Payment” message for a front sign featuring a pixel art version of TTC’s Proof-of-Payment icon. A screenshot of the Google Docs online interface, but in a dark mode I created. It’s based on Google’s Material 3 design language. The math toolbar, outline sidebar, table properties sidebar, and a dropdown menu are shown to demonstrate how thorough this dark mode is.
