And then I threw wool rug yarn into the depleted dye pot to use up whatever is left in there! I won't get a true black, probably more like a purple when all is said and done, but can't let good dye go to waste when I will use yarn of pretty much any color eventually.

When I say "fashion is my hobby" this is one tiny part of what I mean. Years ago, my husband bought me a vintage fur coat and silk dressing gown from a local thrift store. Obviously someone had donated their fabulous relative's estate. The dressing gown (currently in my dye pot) is silk

Went out to eat last night at one of the city's most GF friendly restaurants. I had two bites of cheese (which I usually avoid bc dairy gives me a face rash and makes me bloat... but if you have a chance to try burrito, I feel you must) 30 minutes later I was in agony, felt like I got gluten.

Had an insurance salesman call me yesterday to try to sell me cheaper health insurance for my employees. I like saving money, so I listened. He said he could save me 50%. I was interested. I asked which insurance company.
He said UNITED.
I said NOPE. Had united for 7 years and a kid with t1d.

Nothing to celebrate today, so I guess happy day off if you get it off. 1 kid is working, the other is off, husband is off and I need to rework our truck logos today, so that's technically working for free. Yay.

So unbelievably thankful for the help that is coming through for her, though. Humans have the capability to be amazing.

Managed to get the camping stuff from last weekend hung out, today. It would normally have been done as soon as I got home, but I was camping where invasive lantern flies are a problem. So I wanted to make sure I wasn't bringing any home, so I let my gear cook in my car all week. Not recommended

I have 20 more State parks to go to before I can say that I have been to all of them... but this year, I have been revisiting ones I have already been to instead of going to new ones. 😂🤷♀️

If a sitting president can openly muse about arresting and disappearing someone who is likely to become mayor of the country's largest city, while also getting the funding for a massive secret police, it'd be hard to find sufficient evidence to qualify that country as a democracy.

An odd side effect of giving up most social media is that I no longer take a million pictures. (Which is kind of terrible when I am doing volunteer work) but I have like no pictures of my fun weekend. 😅 just this picture of a mushroom covered tree and a blurry deer. 😂

In added sadness the local belly dance costume importer is closing up shop and retiring. So, Friday we went to her late night sale, and I bought a simple costume, beautiful belt, and a lower quality sword prop. So when I recover from camping, I get to practice balancing a sword on myself.

I have had to redo this crochet project 4 times, now because I have to pick up and work from the chain side halfway through. Despite counting my stitches, the 2nd half is always too narrow. To a comedic degree. I am assuming that my tension changes when working the other side, but I don't know WHY.

Chesterfield VAs response on FB to the news that ICE has taken 12 of our neighbors while they were at our court house has been atrocious.
I lost so much faith in humans today. I no longer trust that any of my neighbors are safe.
