Astro Prospector was such a gem to play. I even went for the speedrun / no death achievement (both on my first try).

Thanks to his school, my 5yo kid saw Lilo and Stitch part 3 before any of the others. lol. It was on our watch list (he's slow to actually want to watch Disney movies) but all he could tell me all about the red stitch... he now has 0 interest the first one/remake. Red stitch only is his jam now.

I suppose it happens to everyone, but this year has been a lot of bad piled on bad.
First time in a long time some depression is setting in due to so many small things out of my control/so many plans being derailed.

Hey boardgame people. Now that we live in a world where BGG exists, games have classifications, niches.
Are Sudoku and Crossword puzzles now "Think and Write" games? Have we come full circle?
I'm confused if we're still debating whether Solitaire is a board game or just a card game. Let me know.

Hey boardgame people. Now that we live in a world where BGG exists, games have classifications, niches.

Descent: Journeys in the Dark is THE game that got me into modern board games. Played it at my very first bg event - several sessions and 11 hours later, and I was hooked!
This arrived with almost everything still sealed.

Maybe I am wrong... but all the apps that do boardgame play sharing need to do more consolidation. It seems pretty clear some people just log 10 games, in 2 minutes, then hit "share" which creates an endless feed of "I played X game today" becoming noise. The monthly summaries are cool though.

I played A&A for the first time around age 13. But it was my son (age 9) who's been interested in a "world at war" game since he's been watching Countryballs on YouTube. He's into world maps and I figured it was a good time to show him why wars have been fought and what sucks about them.
