To be fair, giving the government a share of stock in companies could be a way to improve corporate tax collection.
The focus of companies to maximise returns to shareholders will mean less money being diverted in revenue minimisation and outright tax avoidance.

There are a lot of problems with LPG exports, but the biggest problem is the demand overseas for LPG. Not just Asia, but Europe is addicted to it. You can't go cold turkey with energy production.
But Australia really needs a sane royalty on gas extraction. And not price all LPG via world markets

I hope what is happening at Meta is a wake up call to Alphabet: Valve was able to do real innovation with VR without pouring a bucket of money into a pit. Also I am excited about the ARM translation in Proton as it will flow into WINE and be usable for Linux and Unix based systems.

I don't think the Australian Government contractors should use AI beyond number and data manipulation. If they have to use AI they should use ChatNLP, an artificial stupid LLM trained from data collated from Liberal and National party members. Why choose the lesser stupid?

If the US is serious about this whole democratic elections thing, they need to create a US version of the AEC, non partisan, federal election commission that manages voter registration, electorate management and voting management

I do hope after the Trump presidency the US discovers the idea of 1 person = 1 vote, or at least comes to the realisation that nuclear grade gerrymandering is not a viable way to conduct elections.
But I doubt they will, as they haven't done it so far in federal elections.
