The coy act is only fun when you're not talking about something that could get innocent activists murdered by the cops. The real world needs real resistance, not whatever little fantasy you're turning over in your head but will never actually do.

Clickbait nonsense.

I root for the Jays too because my wife is a big fan. I'm just not so much of a homer that I can't see they have major problems at closer right now. I'm not salty, I'm just not an idiot.

He's not just a reliever, he's the closer. ERA matters a lot when your job, by definition, means you're always pitching in close games.

And an 80% save percentage is low-mediocre at best. There are literally 18 pitchers with a higher save percentage than Hoffman this season.

It is though lol. "He carried us for two months and then had a couple (ie, two) bad ones." Unless he means a couple bad outings, in which case he's massively understating how long this slump has been.
August 27, 2025 at 4:44 PM
The facts are that Hoffman has had an ERA below 4.50 in only one month this year. He has the second-most blown saves in all of baseball this season. He has been bad far more often than he's been good as a Blue Jay.

The Panthers and Hornets are bad because they've been managed poorly by ownership groups that don't care. That has nothing to do with the city or fan support. Fans will absolutely support a team that actually tries to win. There's a reason Charlotte FC has some of the best attendance in MLS.
August 27, 2025 at 4:37 PM
It's absurd how Charlotte isn't even trying.
August 27, 2025 at 2:18 PM
I respect the impulse to stand by your guy, but "He was great for two months and only terrible for an additional two months" is quite the defense.
August 27, 2025 at 2:10 PM
That's a mistake. Per the MLB website:

Lol OK man.
August 15, 2025 at 9:29 PM
No, Steelers and Penguins for me so I do have some balance at least.
August 15, 2025 at 9:28 PM
As a Pirates fan who now lives in Charlotte, I really feel seen.

If you can't see the difference between a card just being rebranded in a different color and a card containing a physical item that can literally only exist once by definition, then I give up.
August 15, 2025 at 3:45 PM
They made only one because a player only wears one jersey in their debut. It's literally a patch from the one (1) jersey that Paul Skenes wore in his one (1) debut game. Do you think players had multiple debit jerseys before this?
August 15, 2025 at 4:07 AM
How is a card that contains a debut patch, which by definition can only exist one time, "fake scarcity?"
August 14, 2025 at 11:08 PM
The service time deadline was months ago?
August 13, 2025 at 4:29 PM
No they particularly wouldn't want that. Winning ROY gives the team a draft pick, except it doesn't if the player got called up after the service time deadline. Which was months ago.

In the context of a headline it's not scare quotes, it's an actual quote. Somebody has said the man is dying, so they put it in quotes.

The nadir of the "stomp clap hey" movement was American Authors. Songs written and recorded solely to be put in commercials.
