The enhanced solar wind environment has prompted a strong (G3) geomagnetic storm warning which is now in effect until 23:59 UTC (Dec 3). Despite the full moon, aurora sky watchers at higher latitudes should be alert for aurora should local weather conditions allow.

Our Sun Wakes Up! Soon to be named Region 4294 fires an M5.96-flare at an R2-level radio blackout now! Expect signal degradation on VHF and HF dayside radio bands in the western hemisphere over the next hour, especially western South America, Hawaii & Asian Pacific (colored regions in map).

While the storm is stronger than forecast just 24 hours ago, it is still too soon to say what, if any, impact it would have on Atlantic Canada.
Current projections continue to indicate the most likely scenario is a track SE of Newfoundland.
