A tiny whip and tongue graft, Che onto Osage orange rootstock. Excited to do a lot of these this spring! Che is a fruit tree related to fig and mulberry. We collected the Osage orange seeds for these rootstocks from some huge old trees in Central Park NYC. #grafting #fruit #foodforest #permaculture

I made a dead hedge last year with material from the garden and bits of storm damaged trees that would be cleared away by the council. I’ve seen long-tailed tit and wren hunting for insects and a ‘lovelyness’ is seven spot ladybirds.
